1. Dinner Group will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM.

2. For the first 3 or 4 months, we will focus on sampling different ethnic cuisines at local restaurants.

3. If a larger group (only 5 people at organizing meeting) participates, we will change format to include organized pot-luck or progressive dinners alternating with eating out.

4. A hostess will volunteer to be in charge of the dinner which entails picking the restaurant, making reservations and collecting everyone’s money for the dinner check.

5. You MUST bring cash to pay for your dinner. Having a group where people pay with credit/debit cards becomes a hassle for everyone which we want to avoid.

6. The hostess will be the cashier and will let everyone know their total including tip.

7. If you wish to participate, you need to RSVP by the Sunday prior to meeting so an accurate reservation can be made. If you must cancel after accepting, please call the hostess. If you just show up, you run the risk of not being able to sit with the group, but you are still welcome. Email RSVP’s are welcome up to Sunday.

8. The information regarding what restaurant we will be going to will be posted on the ward blog. The blog address will be announced in the Sunday R.S. program.

9. I will be the hostess at the first meeting on February 15th , 6:00PM and it will be held at Papaluci’s , 4611 E. 2nd St., LB 90803. Website http://www.yelp.com/biz/papaluccis-long-beach

10. March will be held at Thai Gourmet, http://www.thaigourmetbysrimaya.com/ with Priscilla Rogers as hostess.

11. Anyone in the ward is welcome whether you signed up to be in the group or not. Just make sure to RSVP.

We are looking forward to this fun experience and hope you will enjoy it too!

Warm Regards,

Stephanie Calderon

This group will go to the Newport Beach temple and rotate every other month between doing an evening session and a Saturday session. The schedule is as follows:

Please note that you must call to make an appointment to attend the Newport Beach temple (949)644-1820 and you need to have your own clothing.

Also, Genie Poston works at the Los Angeles temple on the 4th Wednesday of each month. If you are interested in going with her she leaves at 10am, works from noon to 4pm, and then has dinner and leaves after traffic has settled. Therefore, if you go on that day with her there are no guarantees as to what time you will be home. Contact her if you want to go on that day.

There was some discussion about doing a day trip in the summer time to the San Diego Temple. More info to come.

Note: Newport will be closed March 14-28, Aug 1-15, April 2, September 24, October 1, November 23-24, December 24 and 31.

QUILTING GROUP

The first quilting group meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11th at the church.  Diane Ellsworth has volunteered to help guide us through the quilting process!  She has suggested, and I absolutely agree, that we meet and start working our way through the absolute basics of quilting. Accurate cutting and accurate seams are musts in quilting and that requires a little practice and guidance.   Also, Diane said that if you don't have a machine, she has an extra one she is willing to share.

If you have any of the following, please bring them.  If not, just come and don't worry about anything yet!  Don't let supplies keep you from this meeting.

-Sewing Machine and thread
-scissors
-scrap fabric to practice cutting and sewing on
-Rotary cutter
-cutting mat
-cutting ruler

If you can, please RSVP just to confirm that you're coming.  Thanks!  Tiffany Brodowski
